President Du Zhixiong leads delegation to visit South Korea

On August 18-24, 2013, at the invitation of the Korea Rural Economic Research Institute, the president of the Association, Du Zhixiong, led a delegation from the Rural Development Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for a week-long visit to South Korea.

On the 19th, the president of the Korean Economic Research Institute met with the delegation. The two sides agreed that the two institutions of the institute are similar in nature and have the same mission. The two sides should further deepen cooperation and expand cooperation channels and forms on the basis of existing exchanges. In the near future, we will focus on joint research on agricultural cooperation and farmers' welfare enhancement between the two countries under the background of China-South Korea Free Trade Agreement. The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on the signing of a formal cooperation agreement.

In the following days, the delegation visited Seoul Keladong Agricultural and Aquatic Food Company (Agricultural and Aquatic Products Wholesale Market), Han Niu Farm Family Farm in Yangping County, Gyeonggi Province, Facility Vegetable Family Farm in South Yangzhou City, Gyeonggi Province, Pro-environment Miscellaneous Valley Processing Farm in Huaishan County, Pro-environment Native Pure Seed Research Institute, Anqin Environmental Farm, Mayor of Zhongqing North Korea, Central Association of Korea Agricultural Association, and Direct Large Supermarket of Agricultural Association, etc.

During the visit to Huaishan County, the Chief of Agricultural Resources of Zhongqing North Road and the Chief of Organic Agriculture of Huaishan County accompanied the whole visit. Huaishan County Governor Lin Kuoxiu (Lim Kak-soo) met and hosted a banquet for the delegation. Huaishan County won the Korean President's Organic Agriculture Award last year and will host the World Organic Agriculture Expo in 2015.
