at the end of the year and the beginning of the year, the secretariat of this association extends its sincerest wishes for the new year to the general membership. This newsletter releases 6 messages:

1. would have 2013 annual meeting held successfully

on December 28, 2013, with the strong support of the editorial department of world agriculture, the association successfully held the 2013 annual meeting and the academic seminar on the development of agricultural globalization in the economic transition period. Vice President Xu Hui made important contributions. A total of more than 120 people attended the one-day meeting, including about 100 members and more than 20 non-members. The theme of the seminar is "the development of agricultural globalization in the period of economic transformation". Pan Shengzhou, deputy director of the Central Policy Research Office, was invited to interpret the spirit of the three plenary sessions of the 18th CPC Central Committee and the central rural work conference. Ni Hongxing, director of the agricultural trade promotion center of the Ministry of agriculture, was invited to give a theme report entitled "China's strategic understanding of food security from the perspective of globalization. Six members made special speeches on the world and China's food market and food security. Each speech was commented by senior scholars and had a wonderful question and answer session.

A working meeting of the Institute was also held during the annual meeting. Vice President Xu Hui presided over the work meeting, Secretary-General Tan Xuewen made a work report, and Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Zhu Lizhi made a report on the Board of Supervisors. The participating members put forward a lot of valuable opinions, and President Du Zhixiong responded to some important issues. The meeting instructed the secretariat to organize the suggestions and opinions put forward at the meeting into minutes as soon as possible, discuss and make decisions within the corresponding scope, and implement them after adoption.

The co-author of World Agriculture, organized by the 2. Association, is at an advanced stage.

Through the efforts of the authors, the first draft of World Agriculture has come to an end. By the end of December, the authors of half of the chapters had submitted their first drafts, and the other half of the chapters were in progress and were about to be completed.

3. 7 I have received nearly 40 since January. Application for Membership

since July 2013, especially since the start of the annual meeting in December, the secretariat of the association has received nearly 40 application forms for membership, mostly graduate students. He Xiurong and Xu Hui, two vice presidents, made great promotion in their units and related units, and recommended a large number of new forces for the research association. I would like to express my praise and thanks here. We will carry out the review and approval process for membership applications in the near future. After the review is passed, new members will be notified in a timely manner, providing them with a membership number, and immediately fulfilling their membership rights and obligations.

4. the normal operation of our website, we look forward to more participation from our members.

After the website was opened in March this year, we adjusted and improved the structure and content of the website, and basically entered the normal operation stage. The website domain name is: www.csfae.org.cn or www.csfae.cn members are welcome to visit our website frequently.

This website currently consists of seven first-level columns, such as the introduction of the Institute. Among them, the dynamic column of the society mainly publishes news information, notices and announcements and other information related to the main leaders of the research society or the research society. In addition to providing member information, the member world column will focus on introducing the elegant demeanour and research experience of the members of the society through the "member dynamics" secondary column. The results publishing column mainly publishes the important research results of the research society and its members. The foreign agricultural column is a key construction column with several secondary columns, it will build a platform for foreign agricultural economic information and data.

Since July, we have formulated a website operation plan, including division of labor, member participation, implementation and other contents, which are sent to all members by mail. In the last six months, some deputy members have sent information about their participation in academic activities. We also obtained the activity information of the vice president from the websites of relevant units and then released the summary. However, most of the vice presidents did not send personal information on academic activities as suggested. In terms of website construction, after consulting opinions, two members participated in the information update work of the "Foreign Agriculture" column, basically updating a piece of relevant news or information every day. The two members, Zhang Hongzhou of Nanyang Technological University and Zhang Lixia of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, expressed their gratitude to them.

Here, we expect more members to participate in the construction of columns such as member style and hot topics; we also expect the vice president to set an example and send more information about academic activities and academic achievements.

5. the president, vice president, etc. to participate in a series of academic activities, some members to enhance the academic status

according to incomplete information, the president and vice president of the association are involved in a large number of relevant academic activities. For example, President Du Zhixiong led a delegation to visit South Korea and Russia, and met with visiting guests from Australia, the United States and Nigeria. Vice President Luo Biliang attended the 2013 China Great Britain Urban Agricultural Development Academic Exchange Conference. Vice President Kong Xiangzhi attended a lecture on "New Agricultural Business Entity" in Ningde City. Vice President Zhu Youzhi published an important article on food security in Guangming Daily; vice President Zhu Lizhi successively made sustainable development reports and focused on participating in the preparation of national agricultural sustainable development plans; Vice President Tan Xuewen participated in the China-EU Urbanization Partnership Guangzhou Forum and conducted in-depth work exchanges with Italian partners.

In the past year, the academic status of several vice presidents and executive directors has been promoted. For example, Vice President Cheng Guoqiang presided over the work of the Information Center of the Development Research Center of the State Council; Vice President Tang Zhong became Dean of the School of Agriculture and Rural Development of Renmin University of China; Vice President Zuo Changsheng became Director of the China International Poverty Alleviation Center; Executive Director Ding Shijun became Zhongnan Economics and Law Dean of the School of Public Administration, University of Economics and Law, etc. There is also a large amount of member promotion information we may not have. I would like to congratulate them together.

6. to the end of the total collection of membership fees 9 more than ten thousand yuan, the balance of funds 6 more than ten thousand yuan

the collection of membership fees began during the current sessional period. By the end of 2013, a total of 91500 yuan of membership fees had been collected, which set a precedent for the research association and naturally generated pressure to better serve its members.

In 2013, the total income of the Association was 20300 yuan, the total expenditure was 16900 yuan, and the accumulated balance was 3400 yuan. With the balance of funds from the previous year, the accumulated balance at the end of 2013 was 64600 yuan.
