USDA: US corn exports to mainland China nearly stagnated last week

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27: The U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly export inspection report shows that the U.S. shipped about 22 shipments of soybeans to mainland China in the past week, up from about 16 shipments the previous week.
In the week ending January 23, 2014, the United States shipped 46.045 million bushels (1.253 million tons) of soybeans to mainland China, up from 33.312 million bushels (907000 tons) the previous week.
In the week ending January 23, 2014, U.S. soybean export inspections to China accounted for 62.4 percent of the total U.S. soybean export inspections that week, up from 58.9 percent in the previous week.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly export inspection report shows that the pace of U.S. corn shipments to China continued to slow in the past week.
In the week ending January 23, 2014, the United States shipped 50000 bushels (1300 tons) of yellow corn to mainland China, down from 130000 bushels (3300 tons) the previous week.
In the week ending January 23, 2014, US corn exports to China accounted for 0.2 per cent of total export inspections in that week, down from 0.5 per cent in the previous week.
Since November last year, China has returned more than 600000 tons of U.S. corn because quality inspection authorities found unapproved MIR162 genetically modified ingredients in these shipments. (Source: Boyi Master)
