chicago, March 6: According to the latest report released by Informa Economic Company, a private analysis organization, the global corn production forecast for 2014/15 (July to June of the following year) was raised to 0.9583 billion tons, compared with the earlier forecast of 0.9553 billion tons and 0.9614 billion tons last year, because the harvest area was raised to 0.1741 billion hectares from the earlier forecast of 0.1736 billion hectares and 0.1761 billion hectares last year.

Informa expect Ukraine's corn production in 2014/15 to be 23 million tons, up from an earlier forecast of 20 million tons and 30.9 million tons last year. The harvest area was 4.2 million hectares, compared with an earlier forecast of 3.7 million hectares and 4.8 million hectares the previous year. U.S. corn production data remained unchanged at 0.3552 billion tons, compared with 0.3537 billion tons the previous year. The area harvested was 34.7 million hectares, compared to 35.5 million hectares the previous year.

The forecast data for Brazil's corn production in 2014/15 remained unchanged at 69.3 million tons, up from 65.5 million tons in the previous year. The harvest area was 1400 10,000 hectares, compared with 14.3 million hectares the previous year. The EU 28 66.4 million tons, compared with 64.7 million tons in the previous year, and the harvested area was 9.4 million hectares, compared with 9.8 million hectares in the previous year. Argentina 26.2 million tons, 22.6 million tons in the previous year. The harvest area was 3.4 million hectares, compared with 3.4 million hectares in the previous year.

Mexico's corn production forecast for 2014/15 remains unchanged at 21.4 million tons, compared with 21.7 million tons in the previous year.
