washington, June 3 news: The National Crop Progress Report released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) shows that due to rising temperatures and sufficient soil moisture in the Midwest of the United States, corn crops are growing well.
In the week ending June 1, the national corn planting progress in the United States was 95%, higher than 88% a week ago, higher than 90% in the same period last year, and higher than the average planting progress of 94% in the same period of five years.
As of the week of June 1, the national corn emergence rate in the United States was 80%, 60% last week, 71% in the same period last year, and the average emergence rate in the same period of five years was 80%.
This week the USDA also released its first corn crop rating data of the year. The proportion of good corn ratings nationwide was 76%, 6 points higher than the 70% expected by the market before the report was released, and also higher than 63% in the same period last year.
Among them, the proportion of excellent rating is 13%, the proportion of good rating is 63%, the proportion of general rating is 22%, the proportion of poor rating is 2%, and the proportion of poor rating is zero.
In Iowa, the main corn producing area, the proportion of corn with excellent rating is 17%, good 65%, general 17%, poor 1% and poor 0%. In Illinois, the proportion of excellent rating is 17%, good 53%, general 27%, poor 2%, poor 1%; In Indiana, excellent 15%, good 55%, average 24%, poor 5%, 1% worse.
