cargill, an international grain giant, announced that it has invested $0.1 billion million to expand its wheat flour processing plant in the Yevremov region of Tula, Russia.
Cargill plans to double the annual wheat processing capacity of the Yevremov processing plant to 500000 tons/year.
The processing plant employs more than 800 people and uses corn, barley, wheat and other grains to produce starch and sweeteners.
Natalia Olova, manager of Cargill's Russian food industry company, said in a statement that the project reflects Cargill's investment commitment to Tula state.
Cargill opened an office in Moscow in 1991. In 1995, the Yevremov processing plant was established, which was Cargill's first investment in Russia.
Russia is expected to become the world's third largest wheat exporter this year, after the United States and Canada.
