IGC expects global rice production to be 0.4756 billion tonnes

the latest report released by the International Grains Council (IGC) shows that the global rice production in 2013/14 is expected to be 0.4756 billion tons, compared with the earlier forecast of 0.4753 billion tons and 0.4716 billion tons in the previous year.

According to the IGC, the total global rice supply in 2013/14 is expected to be 0.5853 billion tons, compared with an earlier forecast of 0.5856 billion tons and 0.5784 billion tons in the previous year. Global rice exports are expected to be 39.7 million tons, compared with an earlier forecast of 39.2 million tons and 37.9 million tons the previous year. Global ending stocks of rice for 2013/14 are expected to be 0.1091 billion tons, compared with an earlier forecast of 0.1102 billion tons and 0.1098 billion tons the previous year.
