The 2014 Annual Meeting and Academic Seminar of China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association was successfully held in Harbin

On December 20-21, 2014, the annual meeting and academic seminar of China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association was held in Harbin. The conference was sponsored by the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association and undertaken by the School of Economics and Management of Northeast Agricultural University. More than 150 people from domestic universities, research institutions and other units attended the two-day meeting. ye xingqing, minister of the rural department of the state council development research center, and feng xiao, secretary of the party committee of northeast agricultural university, were invited to attend the meeting. Du Zhixiong, president of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association, Tang Zhong, Xu Hui, Zhou Yingheng, and Zhu Lizhi, vice presidents, and Li Cuixia, executive director of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association and dean of the School of Economics and Management of Northeast Agricultural University, attended the meeting.

The theme of this academic seminar is "China's New Strategy for Agricultural Development from the Perspective of Globalization". There are three main links:

the first session is the opening ceremony and theme report on the morning of the 20th. In this session, Secretary Feng Xiao of Northeast Agricultural University and President Du Zhixiong of China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association delivered speeches respectively. Minister Ye Xingqing was invited to give a keynote report on the topic of "The Great Logic of China's Agricultural Development". Professor Tang Zhong and Professor Zhu Lizhi made thematic reports on the topics of "A Little Opinion on China's Agriculture Going Global" and "Practice and Strategy of China's Agricultural Sustainable Development" respectively, professor Zhou Yingheng presided over the thematic report and commented on it respectively.

The second link is the publication of the paper with members as the main body on the afternoon of the 20th. A total of 16 speeches were arranged at the meeting, which were divided into two sub-venues, and each sub-venue was divided into two sections. The themes of the sub-venues were: farmer behavior and farmer occupation, agricultural product market and agricultural sustainability, and agricultural management System innovation and foreign agricultural economy. Each sub-venue will have one host, one commentator and four reporters.

The third link includes the summary of the meeting, the award ceremony and the member representative assembly. On the morning of the 21st, the meeting arranged for two members to summarize and share the speeches and discussions of each sub-venue, and the executive director and researcher Chen Jinsong of the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences made a summary comment. In addition, this year, the Research Association carried out member essay solicitation and excellent paper selection activities, and a total of 5 second prizes, 9 third prizes and 8 finalists were selected (the first prize is vacant). The process and results of the awards were announced and certificates were awarded. For the relevant award-winning papers, the research will be recommended to the "China's rural economy" and other publications.

After the academic seminar, Vice President Xu Hui presided over the annual work meeting of the Research Society, and Tan Xuewen, secretary general of the Research Society, reported to the participants on the work of the Research Society in 2014. Subsequently, President Du Zhixiong presided over the seminar, and the participating members and non-members had a lively discussion, fully affirmed the activities carried out by the research society, put forward high expectations for future activities, and for the next annual meeting. Specific suggestions were put forward for the development.
