Zhu Lizhi Accepted Xinhua News Agency Reporters to Interpret No.1 Central Document in 2015
on February 1, 2015, Xinhua News Agency reporter Lin Hui interviewed researcher Zhu Lizhi, director of the Agricultural and Rural Resources and Environment Research Office of the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, on the relevant content of the 2015 Central Document No. 1.
The No. 1 document of the Central Committee in 2015 emphasized the need to "focus on the construction of modern agriculture and accelerate the transformation of agricultural development methods". In this regard, researcher Zhu Lizhi believes that modern agriculture is different from petroleum agriculture. It is a low-consumption, low-pollution, and high-efficiency agriculture. Therefore, my country's agriculture must change the existing conventional development mode and take a sustainable modern agricultural development path. In the process of changing the mode of agricultural development, we should pay attention to the development of "three-type" agriculture, that is, from the "two-type" agriculture of "resource-saving and environment-friendly" to the "three-type" agriculture of "resource-saving, environment-friendly and ecological conservation. Agriculture is an ecological industry. Only by rising to a higher level of ecology can we ensure sustainable development.
The No. 1 document of the Central Committee in 2015 emphasized the need to "continuously enhance food production capacity". In view of this, researcher Zhu Lizhi believes that enhancing grain production capacity requires us to make efforts in many aspects, but we should take improving the quality of cultivated land as the top priority. We should not only be based on the present, but also focus on the future, so that we can "keep food in the ground and have confidence in our hearts". As early as more than three centuries ago, the British economist Pi said: "Land is the mother of wealth, and labor is the father of wealth." This sentence, especially for Chinese people who have a small per capita land area, should always be kept in mind.
