President Du Zhixiong Meets with IATP Director Hao Keming

On the afternoon of June 3, 2013, President Du Zhixiong met with Mr. Jim Harkness, Director of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policies (IATP) in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on a series of issues such as the recent agricultural development situation in China and the United States, the main issues of concern to scholars, China's food security, and the impact of multinational companies on China's agriculture. During this period, President Du also briefed him on the preparations for the "International Symposium on Comparative Agricultural Modernization between China and Foreign Countries" to be jointly organized by the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association and the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in the second half of this year. Mr. Hao expressed a clear interest in this meeting and was willing to support and participate in this seminar.

Secretary-General Tan Xuewen participated in the meeting.
