The Impact of Sino-US Trade Disputes on China's Agriculture

Members' work

A study of the impact of Sino-US trade frictions on China's agriculture since April 2018 found that:

first, the Sino-US trade friction will be long-term, systematic and complex.

Second, in the short term, domestic soybean prices may phase higher. For this negative impact, we can start from four aspects:(1) increase soybean imports to other countries. (2) Promote the pig feed industry from the energy feed corn and protein feed soybean meal-based American formula to wheat, oat, barley-based European formula. (3) Expand the import of sunflower meal, rapeseed meal and other protein raw materials to make up for the problem of rising feed raw material prices caused by the periodic rise in soybean prices. (4) In the long run, it is necessary to strengthen the support for domestic soybeans.

Third, in the long run, this trade friction is good for China's agricultural development.
