Empirical Analysis of New Agricultural Business Entities and Their Joining Cooperatives -- Based on Panel Data of 795 Planting Family Farms in China

The scale of family farm land operations has a significant positive effect on farm participation in cooperatives, I .e., those with large operations have a higher probability of joining cooperatives; this conclusion remains robust even taking into account the exogenous effects of the number of cooperatives in the area where the family farm is located. Therefore, we should further encourage and support the development of new agricultural business entities such as family farms; build and improve the agricultural socialized service system to meet the cooperation needs of agricultural business entities; actively promote farmers and agricultural training, and cultivate a large number of high-quality new professional farmers.
