Land fragmentation, service outsourcing and agricultural land abandonment -- an empirical analysis based on 2704 farmers' questionnaires in 9 provinces and regions.
In recent years, the phenomenon of low agricultural production efficiency and farmland abandonment in China has become more and more prominent. The research shows that land fragmentation will increase the incidence of agricultural land abandonment; agricultural service outsourcing can significantly inhibit farmers' abandonment of agricultural land; the development of agricultural outsourcing service market can significantly reduce the rate of agricultural land abandonment caused by land fragmentation. Therefore, to resolve the problem of agricultural land abandonment, we can promote the continuity of farmers' land management through land consolidation and land exchange; encourage farmers, especially new agricultural business entities, to operate on a moderate scale; promote the development of agricultural service outsourcing market to meet farmers' demand for outsourcing services; rationally adjust the support policies for agricultural layout and scale operation, and strengthen the organization of agricultural production layout and the specialization of productive services.
