according to news on December 4, the production report released by Statistics Canada on Wednesday showed that the country's wheat production in 2013 will be higher than expected, reaching a record 37.53 million tons, an increase of 38% from 2012. Much higher than the October estimate of 33 million tons, but also higher than the market average of 33.8 million tons expected.
The Bureau of Statistics said in the report that a survey of farmers showed that favorable weather has increased crop yields in western provinces.
The level refreshed the record of 32.1 million tons set in 1990.
