President Du Zhixiong Attends the Fifth Rice Industry Economic Forum and Food Security Symposium of Zhejiang University

From December 7 to 8, 2013, President Du Zhixiong attended the "Fifth Rice Industry Economic Forum and Food Security Symposium" in Hangzhou, which was one of the organizers of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association ".

Conference representatives from domestic and foreign research and education departments, rice industry (agricultural products processing, agricultural machinery manufacturing) departments, government management departments and more than 20 units. More than 50 people attended the meeting.

President Du Zhixiong expressed his views on the prospects of world food security and China's role in it in the future. He believes that from the history and reality of world food supply and demand, the current and future world food security situation is generally optimistic; rational mobilization of world food production reserve resources, increasing the global food supply cake, and optimizing food distribution are the key to ensuring world food security; although China's high food self-sufficiency rate has made a great contribution to ensuring world food security, the cost of resources and the environment is too high, the rational use of two resources and two markets to solve China's food security problem may be China's inevitable choice, and it is also a major issue that should be strengthened in the future.
