according to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Trade, Thailand's rice exports may increase significantly to 800 to 10 million tons in 2014, higher than the expected export volume of 6.68 million tons in 2013. As the price of Thai rice has tended to fall and the demand of importers is good, the outlook for Thai rice exports will improve next year. In 2014, rice exports may increase to 800 to 10 million tons, of which intergovernmental transactions may account for 60% of total exports. The Ministry of Finance also stated that the government has enough funds to purchase farmers' rice, and the outstanding payment will be completed by January 15, 2014.
