Ukraine's corn production in 2014 may be lower than the previous year

kiev, May 6: According to a report released by the analysis agency UkrAgroConsult, Ukraine's corn output in 2014/15 (July-June) is expected to be 24 million tons, down from 27 million tons last year.
UkrAgroConsult expects 2.2 million hectares of corn to be planted in Ukraine this year, compared with 2.5 million hectares last year.
Ukraine's domestic corn consumption in 2014/15 is expected to be 7.5 million tons, the same as the previous year. The export volume is expected to be 16.7 million tons, down from 19 million tons last year.
Ukraine's final corn stocks in 2014/15 are expected to be 945000 tons, down from 1.1 million tons in the previous year. (Source: Master Boyi
