Vietnam exports 1.57 million tons of rice in first four months

according to the latest data released by the Vietnam Food Association, between January 1 and April 24, 2014, Vietnam exported 1.566 million tons of rice, down 27% from 2.151 million tons in the same period last year. So far, the average export price of rice is US $439 per ton, FOB price, which is the same as the same period last year.

From April 1 to 24, Vietnam exported 350,934 tons of rice, 40% lower than the export volume in April last year and 40% lower than the export volume in March 2014. So far in April, the average export price of rice is US $454 per ton, up about 6% from the same period last year and 3% from US $439 in March this year.
