according to data released by the Thai Rice Exporters Association, Thailand exported 3.82 million tons of rice from January to May 2014, an increase of about 52% over the 2.51 million tons exported in the same period last year.

In terms of market value, Thailand's rice exports earned about 63.076 billion baht in the first five months of this year, an increase of 19% over the same period last year. In US dollars, Thailand's rice exports earned about US $1.938 billion, up about 8% year-on-year.
