WFP Global Outlook 2026

This report is the World Food Programme's annual global outlook (released in November 2025 with a mid-year update in 2026), replacing the previous Global Action Response Plan ". The report estimates that about 0.318 billion people worldwide will face crisis-level or worse acute hunger in 2026, double the number in 2019, and famine will be confirmed in Gaza and parts of Sudan for the first time in the 21st century. The World Food Programme has set a demand of US $13 billion for 2026 and plans to assist the most vulnerable people in 0.11 billion, but the funding forecast is less than half of the target, and almost all operations have been forced to cut rations and cash and reprioritize the population. The report calls on the international community to continue to invest in early action (up to $7 for every $1 invested), digital innovation and building resilience.
