Grain Market Report GMR 580

This report is published on a monthly basis by the London-based International Grain Council and is an important reference for grain traders and policy departments worldwide. In September 580, 2026, global grain production in 2026/27 will be increased by 4 million tons to 2.42 billion tons (still about 3% lower than the previous year's record level). Consumption is expected to be 2.444 billion tons, exceeding production by about 24 million tons, and ending stocks will be reduced to 0.608 billion tons. In the current period, the global wheat production will be increased by 3 million tons to 0.82 billion tons, the final stock of wheat will be 0.278 billion tons, and the trade volume will be 0.201 billion tons. Global soybean production is expected to reach a record 0.44 billion tons, with a trade volume of 0.191 billion tons. Affected by the disruption of Black Sea shipping and energy prices, the International Grain Council's grain and oilseed price index rose 6% month-on-month to a three-year high.
