2016 New Year's Message

Dear member colleagues:

chunhua Qiushi, morning light evening overcast! Unconsciously, the sixth session of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association has come to an end, and the seventh session is about to come as scheduled. After harvesting, you can never forget the silent waiting, the green sprouting tiller, and the mature edge; a pile of grains is not only an aggregation of power, but also a legend of a grain of millet. They are both fruits and seeds, nourishing both the present and the future! Similarly, each of us is a witness, witness, and creator of the development of this stage of the research society. We have reason to raise our glasses and cheer for this!

In the past four years, the research platform has operated efficiently and given full play to its role in serving members, such as the selection and recommendation of the research paper award, and the distribution of publications such as research papers and think tank reports. In particular, the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the World Agriculture magazine, the School of Economics and Management of Northeast Agricultural University, and the Business School of Jiangnan University have respectively hosted the annual meeting, making outstanding contributions to the development of the research society. After this session, the number of registered members of the research society has increased significantly, and the activity and reputation of the research society in the subject field have continued to increase. These are inseparable from the support and persistence of every colleague.

Behind the achievements, we clearly realize that the current efforts are still far from everyone's expectations, and the arrangement and promotion of many specific work are still insufficient. Therefore, in addition to the existing working mechanism, we hope to establish a more open collaboration network, gather more participation, continuously improve the work of the research society, and extend the activities of the research society. The past is past, the future will come. In 2016, the Research Association will launch a general meeting, comprehensively update and upgrade the website, launch WeChat official account, and build a project cooperation platform. I believe that with everyone's wisdom and contribution, these work will go further!

For a period of time, the global agriculture has developed steadily, the market is relatively loose, and the global hunger situation tends to improve. However, due to the war and other reasons, 0.8 billion people still suffer from hunger. At the same time, China's grain stocks are high, supply and demand are unbalanced, and agriculture is in urgent need of supply side structural reform. From the perspective of onlookers, the international and domestic agricultural economic situation is not optimistic; from the perspective of participants, based on China and looking at the world, the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association will take the yoke and never stop!
