2020 Academic Seminar Held
on August 18, 2020, the 8th Member Congress of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association, co-sponsored by the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association, the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Anhui Agricultural University, and hosted by the School of Economics and Management of Anhui Agricultural University The 2020 Academic Seminar was grandly held.
Affected by the epidemic, the meeting was held in Beijing and Hefei in the form of "online video-based, offline on-site meetings as a supplement", with the main venue (Institute of Rural Development, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) and the sub-venue (School of Economics and Management, Anhui Agricultural University), the main venue for the members' congress and the sub-venue for the parallel forum. The theme of this conference is "Agricultural and Rural Development in the Post-well-off Society-International experience and Transformation Direction". More than 300 experts and scholars from nearly 80 universities and research institutions at home and abroad, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Tsinghua University and Renmin University, attended the conference.
In the morning, the opening meeting, the eighth member congress of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association and the keynote report were held. The opening meeting and the member congress were presided over by Professor Kong Xiangzhi, School of Agriculture and Rural Development, Renmin University of China, the 7th Vice President of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association. At the opening meeting, researcher Wei Houkai, director of the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Ma Chuanxi, executive vice president of Anhui Agricultural University, delivered speeches respectively. At the members' congress, Professor Du Zhixiong, the seventh chairman of the research society, made a report on the work of the seventh board of directors, and researcher Zhu Lizhi, the seventh chairman of the board of supervisors, made a report on the seventh chairman of the board of supervisors. The secretary-general's report was made by researcher Tan Xuewen. The meeting passed the voting procedures of the member congress of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association, and the eighth council and board of supervisors of the research association were elected online through the voting system.
Researcher Wei Houkai, director of the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave a keynote report entitled "China's Rural Development Strategy during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period. On the basis of analyzing the two major backgrounds of new urbanization and urban-rural integration development during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Director Wei explained the two major strategic transformations of China's rural development during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The strategic transformation of agricultural and rural modernization realizes the effective connection and stable transformation of comprehensive poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.
In the afternoon, a parallel forum, an academic report and a closing meeting were held. In six parallel forums, 32 experts and scholars reported their academic papers on the topics of "transformation and comparison of agricultural and rural policies in high-income countries", "14th Five-Year Plan" and China's agricultural and rural development for 2035 "," food and healthy economic development trend "," sustainable poverty alleviation and poverty governance transformation "and" international economy and trade and its challenges ", and 18 experts and scholars made wonderful comments, nearly 300 experts and scholars participated in the study. The symposium was chaired by Tan Xuewen, a researcher at the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, who was the eighth vice president of the China Society for Foreign Agricultural Economics, li Xiande, a researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Wang Yahua of the School of Public Administration of Tsinghua University, and Professor Paul Wilson of the University of Nottingham, UK, respectively, made a report entitled "The Impact of the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic on Global Agricultural Markets and Food Security and Suggestions for Countermeasures", "Analysis of China's National Conditions and Agricultural and Rural Modernization in Developments and Directions in UK Agricultural Policy Making as the EU: the academic report of Research into Policy Practice.
The closing meeting was presided over by Hu Glacier, researcher from the Institute of Rural Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the eighth Secretary-General of the China Foreign Agricultural Economic Research Association. At the closing meeting, Professor Luan Jingdong of Anhui Agricultural University spoke on behalf of the organizer, and Professor Zhu Jing of Nanjing Agricultural University spoke on behalf of the eighth vice president of the Research Association. The newly elected researcher Tan Xuewen, the eighth vice president, explained the submission and review of 80 papers, the topic selection and quality of the selected papers, and the expenditure of the research society. Finally, researcher Yuan Peng, the newly elected chairman of the research association, made a concluding speech on behalf of the new council. She believes that the research association has formed an excellent academic tradition and an effective governance mechanism., Continue to move forward, build a platform for the research experts and scholars, especially young talents, and enhance the international influence and voice of Chinese scholars.
