The third is to represent the eighth session of the Council. I am in awe of this, and I also promise to you here that I must inherit and carry forward the fine academic traditions and effective governance mechanisms formed by the 7th Council, mainly including focusing on tracking the world's modern agriculture. Development and research hotspots and research characteristics of new international trends and new trends; diversified academic exchanges and results push systems; the governance mechanism with the president's office meeting system as the core explored according to local conditions; and the most important membership system to strengthen the dominant position of members, steadily expand and improve the membership team, and optimize the membership structure, as President Du pointed out, this is also the research society. Centering on the five suggestions put forward by President du Zhixiong to our new Council in the work report of the Seventh Council, such as continuing to improve the membership system, standardizing operation and management, strengthening academic exchanges, strengthening the function of think tanks, and promoting international cooperation and exchanges, the current Council will strive to make progress or breakthroughs in five areas.

First, the strengthening research will become an important window and platform for members to understand and study the latest progress of international agricultural economic research, and at the same time display the latest research results of individuals in a timely manner.

Second, strengthen academic cooperation and academic exchanges with authoritative agricultural economic research institutions and experts at home and abroad, help members get to know more peers and outstanding research scholars at home and abroad, expand members' academic resources, broaden research horizons, and promote research deepening.

Third, guide members to focus on the common concerns of the party, the country and the international community, and carry out basic, forward-looking, and strategic research on major theoretical and practical issues of agricultural and rural modernization on a global scale.
