Hu Glacier: The Impact of the New Crown Epidemic and Reflections on Agricultural Economics
The neo-crowning epidemic poses a great challenge to global agricultural markets and agricultural policies, and also provides an opportunity for reflection on agricultural economics at the disciplinary level. From the continuity of the agricultural market, it can be observed that there is a clear value container in the trading of agricultural products and primary products, providing a specific carrier for market transactions, and the new crown epidemic has not changed the agricultural market to a large extent, but changed the value container of the agricultural market. In the face of the risk of overruns brought about by the epidemic, the proportion of losses faced by agricultural producers of different sizes is roughly equal, and the scale of agricultural operations has not shown greater resilience, which also requires a rethinking of the policy support system that favors farmers' livelihoods. Further, in agricultural economics, policy factors have been deeply embedded in the market system, and the impact of the new crown epidemic will cause great changes in agricultural policy tools and objectives, for which there should be a deeper theoretical discussion or a new analytical framework.
