Hu Glacier: Fundamental Challenges Facing the Global Agricultural Products Market and Countermeasures

From the macro perspective of global agricultural production, the per capita food share is sufficient to achieve the goal of "zero hunger", but under the current conditions, the number of hungry people has continued to increase, which has triggered extensive discussion. In fact, the issue of food security is deeply embedded in historical development. On the one hand, the level of agricultural productivity has not completely crossed the threshold of demand, and on the other hand, the food distribution mechanism is still flawed. In order to explain the contradiction between the existing agricultural market and food security more reasonably, this study introduces the concept of "hunger market" by comparing the past history, and puts forward China's countermeasures to face the challenge of food security based on the interpretation framework of the underlying behavior logic.
