World Economic Outlook, April 2026

This report is the IMF's semi-annual flagship macro report. The April 2026 edition predicts global growth of 3.1 in 2026 and 3.2 in 2027, with global inflation rising slightly in 2026. The July 8, 2026 update sets the growth rate at 3.0 in 2026, increases it to 3.4 in 2027, and raises the global inflation expectation to 4.7, suggesting that the escalation of conflict in the Middle East, commodity volatility and trade fragmentation are the main downside risks. The International Monetary Fund also publishes a monthly data set on "commodity prices" (commonly known as the "pink table"), which provides monthly international prices for energy, food, agricultural raw materials and metals, and is a common source of price benchmarks for agricultural economic and trade research.
