Oilseeds: World Markets and Trade, September 2026
This report is published monthly by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Overseas Farm Service and covers the production, consumption, trade and inventory of oilseeds (copra, cottonseed, palm kernel, peanut, rapeseed, soybean, sunflower seed), meal and oil worldwide. The September 2026 report pointed out that the global export of vegetable oil (including the equivalent amount converted from oilseeds) is expected to reach a record 0.141 billion tons in 2026/27, up about 2% year on year. Among them, the export of rapeseed oil is expected to increase by 8%, sunflower oil is expected to increase by 15%, while the export of palm oil is expected to decrease by about 2% due to Indonesia's biodiesel policy squeezing the exportable supply. Total global oilseed production is expected to be 0.72346 billion tons, of which 0.44235 billion tons are soybeans. The report emphasizes that about 60% of global vegetable oil consumption is met by imports (oil or oilseeds) and is a key monthly material for judging the pattern of oil and oil trade.
